Software Developer

Position Summary

Nexus Software provides software that supports hardware in the financial sector.  This software engineering position requires a broad degree of software system design experience. Position is located in our Kirtland, Oh main office. It is part of a team of developers that supports, maintains and enhances a mature product in the banking industry. This product is built on a foundation of C# code, SQL database, and .NET running in a Windows environment. Additionally, we make use of the Extension for Financial Services (XFS) standard.


BS in computer science, software engineering, relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.  Minimum of six year’s relevant software development work experience.


Experience in the following areas:

  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to work unsupervised and within small teams

  • C# or .NET programming or equivalent structured language. 

  • Web Service or Object-Oriented software design (ReST methodology) are a plus

  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases

  • Demonstratable ability to discover and fix errors in code

  • Technical oral and written communication skills

  • Virtualized environments, such as VMWare, XenDesktop or XenApp are a plus

Essential Functions

Individual applies existing education, work skills, and previous software engineering experience to the development and support of software products in a development role.  Specific duties include:


  • Works with supervisor to evaluate and create functional designs and specifications.

  • Collaborate with supervisor to define schedules, expectations, and other project criteria.

  • Estimates general project efforts.

  • Completes all assignments in a timely manner.

  • Design and code software solutions and components.

  • Support and perform QA testing of software solutions prior to release as needed

  • Coordination of additional duties related to the software development environment as necessary.

  • Updating skills to remain current with existing and new technologies.

  • Onsite customer support and training as needed

  • Provide technical support for external and internal customers including problem logging, analysis, solutioning, and communication with customers.

  • Off-hours support as needed.

  • Generate technical documents.
